Senior Capstone Project 2 / Semester 1/2021

Abstract:

This project is about the development of the design and construction of an automatic self-leveling platform. This system design aims to balance platforms placed on the different terrain by keeping the platform level horizontal, wherever the design itself is placed. This proposed system we have designed will compensate for the motions and maintain the platform’s stability for the concert platform, helicopter platform, or operating table. The task is to develop a functioning automatic self-leveling platform prototype and implement response and precise system. It uses an actuator, an inertial measurement unit which is MPU-6050, and an Arduino Uno microcontroller. The MPU-6050 unit acts as an accelerometer and gyroscope; it measures the change in platform position and angular to its starting position. The Arduino processes the algorithm in which the sensor signals and calculates an output signal. This signaling output regulates the actuator that compensates for the angle that changes in the platform.
